Yaz aka Gasha from NYC!!

Yaz and Shion in Essex station in NYC.

My favorite music beat maker is YAZ aka Gasha, the founder of Old-Soulz!!

I first met Yaz at a library in Sacramento in Cali almost 6 years ago. I remember I just moved to Sacramento and don't have any friends there. I was trying to use the internet at the library, but I could not..I could not use the computer. Then a guy found me and asked me, "what u doing? you wanna use computer...?" or something like that in English. He did not even notice I was Japanese then. Eventually, I told him I am Japanese and we talked about music and we ended up talking about Hip Hop.

He showed me his beats and introduced me to Pesu at that time. We shared the music we liked, and we shared the same sense. I left Sacramento just a week after I met him and went back to Monterey but we kept in contact.

A couple years later,
He came to Monterey with his family and we spent a great time together. Later on he moved to NYC, and I visited him a couple of times.

Big Sur near Monterey with Yaz family and Monterey homies.

Then, after I graduated school in OH, I moved to NYC and lived with YAZ in the same apartment for a year and a half.

Well,,,,There are many stories with him, but I will introduce his beats as an artist.
Please check the link below and listen to his music. I am sure you will like it!

He also has a music radio show in NYC, so check the Dailysession,"MO MUSIC, MO LIFE"

PESU - LIFE IS ART

He is one of my favorite artists in the world and I've been working with him since I lived New York. His name is PESU and his life is definitely art, just like the tatoo on his right arm says, "LIFE IS ART."

I remember one night he had a live painting show at the one of the most popular parties in NYC. He had been painting about 10 minutes and was just finishing up painting the backcolor on his canvas when people started checking out his artwork. It was before he even put his designs on the canvas, but the colors alone were beautiful enough. Some people were already asking how much it costs. Eventually, a hipster bought this special peace of art - just PESU's backgroud colors alone.

There are more crazy stories!!

I like his art and his life so much!!
Please check his artwork. His blog is updated often showing his life style!!
If you are coming to NYC, check out one of his art and feel "LIFE IS ART"

Q-ILL - Tokion Jazz

He is my favorite MC in Japan.

Q-ILL is a cool guy and his lyrics, ryming and flow are so original. You can't find another HIPHOP artist like him in Japan. His lyrics are poetic, using just a few words to convey big meanings.
His lyrics help to open my imagination, and the beat is fantastic as well.

Don't miss Q-ILL's music!!

Elo da Corrente

This is my favorite HIPHOP group in Brazil.

They are super cool guys!!

When I went to Sao Poulo for DJ Rob Swift's Brazilian tour, my brothers PG and DJ Mako took care of me well. They took me to the best beach, party and restaurant in Brazil. They showed me great time in Sao Poulo.

PG is pointing out his name on a big ad along the road.

DJ Mako is becoming a photographer.
Sao Paulo's city mark.

Obligado gurizao!

Please enjoy it, all you music lovers.

Elo da Corrente - Sementes de luz

That's the one of my favorite song. Sementes de luz
I love the CD cover design, too.

Big up gurizaos, PG and Mako, and the Elo da Corrente family!!
